Proxmox Backup Server

There are 2 ways to connect your remote-backups datastore with your own Proxmox Backup Server:

  1. Pull direction
  2. Push direction

Pull

Pulling means that the datastore pulls backups from your Proxmox Backup Server installation. For this to work, your PBS musst be reachable from our server (or the internet). A cloud-hosted server will work, for a server inside your local network you might need to setup port-forwarding or something else.

First, in the remote-backups.com dashboard create a new remote, which is your PBS server:

After that, create a new synchronization job, which will pull the backups from your servers when it runs:

Push

To push backups to your datastore, login to your PBS and create a new remote. You can find the information in the remote-backups.com dashboard on the datastore page at the top right where it says “Connect”:

After creating a remote, navigate to the datastore you want to sync and create a new sync-job with the “Push” direction:

You can identify the correct datastore via the comment field. This should be all, you can test with the “Run now” button.
